Burning death money is one of ancient traditions of Vietnamese peoples, containing mysterious meanings of spiritual lives. Death money (or joss paper) is probably a special graphic work with materials, shapes and colors. In fact, death money that Vietnamese daily use today apparently came from China.
I decided to 'Vietnameselized', gave the papers a new graphic system, some new color experiments. Following the aim of 'redesign', I still kept the original appearance of death money, which is the soul of such an irreplaceble tradition.
The project includes two books that contain all the research information, one package of joss papers printed on various kinds of material, and one 'Behind the scene'.
